The official tour of state after his ascension had not been a thing Rhy had been looking forward to. There was too much to do in Arnes right now, stabilizing his kingdom after a violent attempt at takeover. But, as his brother had pointed out, there was a need to connect with other nations. To forge alliances. To make his people feel comfortable over the idea that he was giving them peace for the future. And, perhaps, there was something to be said to get away from the grieving and the places that reminded him of them. So the tour was on, and now, Arendelle.

The third country they'd been through, and Rhy was definitely not impressed by the place. Lots of colors, yes, but all blues and greens and purples. Arnesian colors were scarlet and gold. He sort of clashed with the area. But it was nice, in the mean time. Nice enough.

"Behave, and keep a civil tongue in your head," Rhy's older brother chided, frowning. Because he knew how Rhy was given to flirting. Not that Rhy was really in the mood for anything. Instead he teased his coat into straighter lines and waited for his name to be announced. And once it was he strode confidently across the floor, smiling warm and wide as he went. Upon reaching the end of the path, and the appropriate distance, he put himself into a sweeping bow.

Perfectly executed.

"Your Royal Highness, it is my pleasure that you would see me. I am King Rhy Maresh of Arnes, and it is an honor that you allow me this meeting. This with me is my brother, Kel Maresh.

She could do this.

Elsa was always a little wary during these official visits. Any visitors to Arendelle knew what they were getting into now, although she suspected 'by the way, they have a talking snowman' was never going to be enough to prepare anyone for Olaf. She still made an effort to look as 'normal' as possible: a pale lavender silk off-the-shoulder gown set with real jewels instead of something crafted from ice crystals. There was still a snowflake motif to the embellishments, but it was mostly a normal gown for an abnormal queen.

She always tried to downplay her powers during times like these. The icy additions to the castle would remain, but other than that Elsa always tried to keep her abilities firmly leashed. There would be problems for Arendelle if another kingdom looked at her and saw a thing to be used, or worse, a threat. Weselton was one thing, but she didn't want to court any more trouble.

She nodded regally at her visitors from her perch on the throne. "Welcome to Arendelle, my lords. I trust your journey was a pleasant one?"

Elsa smiles knowingly - oh she knows that move. Not so much these days, but when they were younger sometimes Anna needed a little nudge to stop talking before she got them both in trouble.

"You're too kind," she says with a gracious tilt of her head, although her eyes are bright. "But I wonder: was it the North Mountain or the ice castle that caught your eye?" She knows that Arnes is very different from their more immediate neighbors and they could very well take...different interests. Perhaps they don't need such a light, watered-down hand, as long as they don't leave here perceiving Arendelle as a threat.

She's become thankfully accustomed enough to courtly flattery that it's going to take more than that to make her blush. Elsa keeps her regal smile firmly in place and extends a hand in invitation. "Please, and then perhaps we can adjourn for tea. You must be tired from your journey."
